Step 5 - CACREP's Review Process

CACREP Reviews Your Application

Initial Review

Once your self-study arrives in the CACREP Office, the disk is sent out for an initial review.  This review can take up to 10 weeks to complete.  You will be notified in writing whether or not your application has been approved for a site visit.  If so, you will be given instructions to proceed.  If your program has not been approved for a visit, you will be given the option to submit an addendum to address the concerns noted in the letter.

Site Visit

The Site Visit involves betwee 2 and 4 team members who will come to your campus for a three day visit.  The Team Chair will be incontact with your Program Liaison to develop an agenda for the visit that includes various groups the team will want to talk to:  administrators, site supervisors, students, adjunct faculty, etc.  At the end of the visit there is a Exit Presentation where the team will summarize their findings.  Within three weeks of the visit, you will receive a copy of the Team Report.  It will be sent to your President, Dean, Department Chair and Program Liaison.
